Pre-WC Finals @ RC Addict, Bangkok
We did forecast that there was going to have a high heat tropical storm for the finals.
Actions begun to rained in from the Semi-finals as Jilles Groskamp was hit hard by transmitter interference, causing him to missed the final. However, we could see the way that he drives around RC Addict would make him a very strong contender for the world title in November.
The Final begun with a clean start with Pietsch leading followed by Chavit S. and Paphon C. As the race went on mechanical problem caught up with Pietsch making him fall out of the contention. Still, Pietsch comes back out with good spirit and finishes the race.
Francesco Tironi was the driver to take full advantage of the situation, even though Paphon C. was driving very strong and stable in 2nd and 3rd position. Due to mistakes from both other pit crews and drivers, Tironi extends his lead and held on to it for the win.
[FINAL RESULT]
We have seen the ups and downs throughout this week. All the exchanges on the track and hot pace of the world’s top drivers had made this Pre-WC race a joy to report. However, despite all the infernal heat from the track, the only thing that was keeping cool was Maxima fuel. All drivers seem to be satisfied with the fuel, yet Maxima would like to thank Patrizio from Capricorn and Team Germany for testing and making great suggestions for Maxima fuel.
10 months between now and the WC race. We will keep you up to date with all the testing cessions that comes our way.
Thank you everybody who has kept up with out reports this week.
Calm after the Storm – Qualification Ends @ RC Addict

We did say that Storms were “brewing”……… Brewing and Unleashed they were !!
As the big guns pull out their stock, real speed begins to emerge as both lap and qualifying records are chattered each round. Robert Pietsch and Francesco Tironni were exchanging fire, taking, losing and re-taking each other #1 spot during the qualification rounds. While Dirk Wischnewski, Jilles Groskamp and top local drivers are keeping a close look of the action in front, intense heat is growing on every part of the competition.
In the end, Pietsch triumph, followed by Tironi. TQ to 4th place are separated by 2 seconds gap between each of them and that is where surprises sprung. Local up and coming young drivers, Paphon C. and Chavit S. made 3rd and 4th place respectively.
It has been dramatic throughout qualifications. Thanks to nature for holding up for 2 qualifying days and we pray that she would be kind to us and give us further good conditions tomorrow, because another storm is coming.
The Pre-World has Begun with its Controlled Practice

Even though RC Addict had suffered from rain on Wednesday afternoon, the track has dried out and provide us with very exciting racing throughout Controlled Practice.
As expected, Robert Pietsch led the first round of controlled practice, yet unexpectedly followed by 2011 Thailand Champion, Paphon C. after some very close racing with Dirk Wischnewski, Jilles Groskamp and Francesco Tironi. However, surprise came from the 2nd round of controlled practice as Robert Pietsch pulled out of the heat early giving first place to Maxima own Thai champ, Paphon.
Luckily, the rain stayed away as the day came to a close, while every driver took advantage of extra time to do further testing and practicing. Though we are sure that all the world top drivers have their storm brewing to be unleashed in the 4 qualifying rounds tomorrow.

Pre-World IFMAR 200mm Nitro World Championship at RC Addict, Bangkok.
Work has begun in RC Addict, Bangkok

Despite the delays due to major flooding in Bangkok and Most of Central Thailand, Nitro’s big names such as Robert Pietsch, Dirk Wischnewski, Jilles Groskamp and Francesco Tironi has turned up for their vital testing to gain as much data and experience as it will pay dividend in November this year at the IFMAR 200mm Nitro World Championship at RC Addict, Bangkok.
These are drivers to be watched as the conditions they are experiencing is probably the closest to what world championship contenders will face in November as rain will plague pretty much the 2nd and 3rd quarter of the year as well as humidity will fills the air. Although most importantly, the 6 weeks close down before the race in November will stop drivers to experience the true conditions of the World Championship race.
Maxima is proud to be the main sponsor of this Pre-World Championship event and we will wait and see how Maxima will perform under the hands of top on-road nitro driver as it has already been proven on the dirt by Jared Tebo.
